Spent the last day of summer vacation with @minicartwhisperer ushering it out in style. We had a great lunch at Sen Yai then gave each other obnoxious bowling names and spent two hours knocking down pins. Back to school tomorrow!
Great show at the Doug Fir tonight. Saw the Kins (whose album I fell in love with on first listen). Next month, Fink! (at Doug Fir Lounge)
Channeled my inner Cheryl Strayed today. (at Lost Lake Resort & Campground)
Had the total Griswold Family hike experience today. When we mention the word, ‘hike’ around our kids, they bitch for a good 24-48 hours before it happens but always end up having a good time. We decided to drive to Lost Lake up on Mt. Hood to spend a little time together as a family unit. Ended up taking the long way (90 minutes) up Lolo Pass Rd. Got there and realized we were totally unprepared for the weather (we were the only dumb-asses in shorts & t-shirts) and had no cash in our pocket for the entry fee. We hit the lodge to stock up on snacks til we got back to Portland for lunch. Spent 5 minutes at the lake then promptly got the f outta there. We laughed it off all the way back. Fortunately, we ended at Migration Brewery to reward ourselves for our “strenuous hike.” Here’s to a complete lack of planning and not being prepared whatsoever. (at Lost Lake Resort & Campground)
Indeed they do. (at Lost Lake Resort & Campground)
Having fun watching the world go by. Need to find a cool use for the new Hyperlapse App.
So long, summer-hours Fridays. I’m gonna miss the shorter work day and daytime drinking opportunities you presented. One last hurrah at one of my favorite breweries. ¡Salud! (at Hair Of The Dog Brewery And Tasting Room)
#tbt My son will start his sophomore year at Central next week. I found my sophomore pic way back from 1984 at San Luis Obispo Senior High.
I’ve been hooked on Jack Garratt all summer long. Check him out on my blog, cartwhisperer.com
